2024 In Review

Wow.

2024 is already almost over.

A lot has happened in this year, both good and bad, and I have grown so much as a writer, blogger, and person. And…to celebrate, I am going to try my hand at a new type of post. XD

Writing:

Words Written (Not sure the exact amount, I think I wrote a tad more than this): 210,000.

Those words equal one novella, half a novel, an unfinished novelette, another unfinished novelette, and over 25 short stories of different lengths. (Some unfinished. XD)

I am currently in the middle of that half-written novel, and hope to finish it by February. (I will be reveal some info on this novel to my blog soon!)

And…another novel might just be in the works. More news on that soon.

Blogging:

Visitors: 1k.

Posts Written: 46. (This is number 47.)

Posts I Meant to Write and Never Did: Too many.

I am taking a short break from blogging over January and February, after ANW’s release, but one or two posts might still appear!

Publishing:

2024 Publications: I am so blessed to not only have published my debut novella, When the Stars Shine Again, but to have just released another book! A Noble Warrior released on December 17th, and I’ve reached so many different publishing milestones with it.

…I’ve also never had a more love-hate relationship with a project of mine, but that’s a story for another day. XD

Upcoming Publications: I will be publishing a short story in the Cornerstone Collection in February! *cheers* The collection is a book of short stories by many of us Cornerstone authors, as a way for readers to get a taste of our writing before they dive into the full series.

Now…I have spread a few rumors…that Ronan from WtSSA might be getting a novella in 2025.

I am sorry to say, I do not think that will be the case.

Publishing ANW and trying to write a novel at the same time (gotta love deadlines) caused me to burn out. Pretty bad. And so I am now conducting a careful balancing act with the novels I need to finish, and cannot add writing and publishing another novella to my plate for the foreseeable future.

Ya’ll here on my blog will be the first to know if I plan on publishing Ronan’s story, or any other book. But for now, I’m going to be going dark in the publishing world.

Fun surprises (partly a surprise even to me, idk what is going to happen XD) await in the next few years, and I am stepping back from self publishing for the moment to prepare for those.

Other Happenings:

A few of those fun surprises, and my new and secret novels, are because I joined the Author Conservatory in February of this past year!

Author has honestly been the greatest gift for my writing. I have learned and grown so much, and any success that ANW has achieved is because of Author.

And, yes. Author means deadlines. I have to finish my novel before I start Year 2 early next year, and I have more novels in the works. So I had to make the hard decision to wait on Ronan and the other books I’ve been whispering about.

And…

I started a business!

I now offer my services as an artist over at my art commissions site, The Pixie’s Paintbrush. Please check it out! XD

On a final note, I have extended the time you can buy a paperback or hardcover of ANW and receive free goodies until the end of 2024!

How was your 2024?

2024 felt like it blew by so fast, yet looking back on everything it feels like they happened so long ago…
