As we’re entering the Christmas season, we’ve hit a time where many people are searching for thoughtful gifts to give their family and friends.
And sometimes, it can be hard to find the right thing for the right person.
If you’ve got a writer in your life, (or if you are a writer, go show this post to a family member or friend😜😇), read on. This post has been carefully crafted by a writer, for those wishing to gift a writer something.
Gift Idea 1. Notebooks.
(Almost) Nothing can go wrong when you gift a writer a notebook.
Even though they most likely already have a hoard of notebooks—just like dragons—writers will snatch up a shiny new notebook to add to their collection and someday fill with bursting ideas and rambling plots.

Gift Idea 2. Pens and Pencils.
How else could your writer write in their new notebook?
Fancy pens are something worthy of display—when they’re not being used. They are the greatest companions to a good notebook.
And good mechanical pencils are indispensable. Being able to erase your mistakes, and never having to sharpen the pencil? Amazing.
Gift Idea 3. Book Merch.
Mugs, blankets, t-shirts, bags… there are almost endless possibilities.
Whether they have something to do with your writer’s favorite book series, or they simply add on to their love of books and writing, book merch are some of the coolest gifts a writer can get.

Gift Idea 4. Book Stickers.
Right along with book merch, stickers are some of the coolest things to receive. A small collection of new book stickers are bound to please.
If you search hard enough, you can find dozens of stickers for any series your writer loves.
Last, but most definitely not least: Books.
Books are truly the greatest gift you can give a writer. Seriously. What else is greater than a new book series to sit down and devour?? Books are what inspire writers to write. They will always love another one.
Bonus. Get a book that has been autographed by its author. You will never hear someone scream in true excitement until you watch them see the signature of their favorite author on their copy.

Just remember that Christmas isn’t about the gifts. It’s a celebration of our Savior’s birth. A remembrance of the amazing gift of salvation that He gave us.
With that in mind, hopefully these small ideas have sparked ones of your own, and you can go into your gift-shoppping with excitement.
Merry (early😜) Christmas!

What if a writer hoards notebooks but never uses them because they’re too pretty and they write on a computer? 😅 YES TO THE MERCH. YEP. But… what are book stickers? Just like stickers with themes from books, or stickers that you put on a book? Cuz either way… I want some. 😆 AND BOOKS. NEVER ENOUGH, I SAY.

Loved this post, Lucy! I love getting notebooks for Christmas. 😀 Books can be a hard one, though, if the recipient’s preferred genre/author isn’t known. 😛 Merch would be soooo cooool to get. 😀

Books is fun if you have a huge TBR list. Just ask for them all.😆 And yes, merch is the coolest to get.

Lol, my sister (who’s more of a bookworm/artist) literally screamed when she got her favorite book signed by the author as a b-day gift one year. Thanks so much for the gift ideas, Lucy! And Merry Christmas to you and your family 🙂
