Is this post a day late? Yes.
Did I sit down to write it yesterday and get completely sidetracked by other writing? Also yes.
Has it been (one day more than exactly) a year since my debut novella released??
YES!!
*confetti cannons explode*
I CANNOT BELIEVE it has been a year since When the Stars Shine Again went out into the world. So much has happened in that year that only happened because of WtSSA (including ANW’s release!), from tackling my first street team to selling WtSSA at the Ydubs retreat book fair. (One of the best author experiences I have ever had, never mind that I talked enough that I almost lost my voice. XD)
WtSSA grew me and stretched me in so many ways, preparing me for so much of the next steps in my writing journey, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the beautiful little novella.
I wanted to do something huge to celebrate. Something amazing to honor the glorious story I retold in my simple words.
But…time got away from me. XD So instead of a parade or decorating my entire blog to celebrate, I decided to pull out bits of my old blog posts. To showcase how WtSSA grew from a tiny idea to a published book.

Abandoned and unwanted for as long as she could remember, Wren thought it was impossible to be worthy of love. It was a fairytale for the rich and perfect.
That is… until a strange Man under the guise of a pauper appears and begins an irrevocable change in Ailnirha.
Little does she know how much the Man will transform her life. When the Stars Shine Again is an allegorical YA fantasy novelette, telling the magnificent story of light vs darkness and how Christ came and died to save the world.
I announced WtSSA on September 18th, 2023, thinking I was only creating a tiny novelette at first.

The first thing I did on my blog was introduce the characters—including a certain young Ronan who still holds bragging rights as one of my all-time favorite characters.

The next few months were a flurry of writing and edits…and flooding my blog with posts about WtSSA…XD But soon the big day came!
It’s When the Stars Shine Again’s release day! …how? 😂
It was only a couple of months ago that a faint idea of a girl on a star-lit hill popped into my mind, sparking this whole writing adventure. And I honestly didn’t believe it would end in this beautiful novella being available to the world. (Ask people. I almost gave up on it multiple times.)
But now it’s here. It’s available for you to read. And I can’t really believe it. 😆
That day was terrifying. I released something into the world that I had poured my heart and soul into, and I had no idea how people would react to it.
But it was also such an exciting day. I still remember watching for each post in WtSSA’s release tour, unable to stop smiling.
I had published a book!

Do you like…
~ Vast, empty, and beautifully starlit night skies? ~
~ Evil villains and chilling climaxes? ~
~ Characters that make you squeal, scream, and want to slap some sense into them while giving them the biggest hug you possibly can? ~

Do you long for…
~ A desperate glimpse of hope, even in life’s darkest moments? ~
~ The achingly beautiful realization that no matter how deep the darkness is, the light will always shine through? ~
~ The rush of light, and life, and hope, after heartache? ~

Do you absolutely love…
~ Characters giving their all for another? ~
~ The cutest young side characters that are nothing but heartbreaking innocence? ~
~ A broken, hopeless young girl realizing she is worthy of love? ~
~ A story you can cry over, but will leave you with the rushing thrill of hope? ~

Then you will love my novella, When the Stars Shine Again!
A fantasy allegory of Christ’s death and resurrection, about a young elvish girl in a dark and hopeless world, convinced she is not worthy of anyone’s love.
It is an emotional story that will more than likely make you shed a few tears, but it doesn’t leave you in the darkness. It leaves you with hope.
Join Wren as she discovers a light that can overcome any darkness.
Happy Book Birthday, WtSSA!
