Will the Book Ever Come…

Any bookworm knows the feeling.

Waiting for the last book in their favorite (or a very very good) series to come out.

Staring at the Amazon page for pre-orders to open. Checking the author’s socials incessantly while waiting for updates.

Waiting by the mailbox for the book to finally arrive.

It’s agonizing.

So. I am breaking my unintentional blog hiatus (sorry ’bout that, btw XD) to bring you some tips on how to endure such a long wait.

Tip 1. Draw Fanart.

Pass the time by reliving your favorite scenes. Creating art of your favorite characters over and over again. Drawing that scene you hope beyond hope will be in the upcoming book.

And then…if you are a very brave reader…send that fan art to the author!

Believe me, as an author myself, it would make their day.

Who knows, maybe it will even give the author the encouragement they need to sit down to write that day!

Tip 2. Reread the Earlier Books!

I’ve been waiting ever since Of Fire and Ash came out for the rest of the Fireborn Epic to release.

And my main way to pass the time was rereading. A…rather insane amount. XD

But now, as Of Sea and Smoke has released, and the final book Of Dawn and Embers, is on its way, the author is helping all her readers out by hosting a giant read-along for the series!

(Due to my unintentional blog hiatus, the read-along is well on its way, but you can still hop on in! Or be the ultimate overachiever and read everything in the week left.)

Tip 3. Fill Your Room With Book Merch

When authors make merch for their own books, it is some of the best EVER.

And readers obviously need every single bit of merch they can get their hands on.

And…well…

Christmas is coming up…

Tip 4. Take Book Related Quizzes

Need I even explain this tip?

Which character are you? Which random object in the book would you be? Would your favorite character be your fictional sibling?

These are all facts we obviously need to know. XD

And even the Fireborn Epic has a quiz!! It’s honestly one of my favorite bookish quizzes ever.

What are some of your favorite ways to wait for a new book? Do you have a specific book you’re waiting for right now?

Which horse did you get in the quiz??
