ONE WEEK LEFT!!

A group of dressed-up people step into a room, folders in hand, and business numbers and market trends at the ready.

They gather around a table, exhausted from already wading through thousands of books, but eager to find the world’s next bestsellers.

Someone pulls up the first proposal of the day. The story looks good. But the author’s ability to market is about to be put to the test.

*cue dramatic music*

…okay, so I condensed a LOT of details. But that’s sort of how publishing houses work. Thousands of books come their way, and they have to sort through each one to find the mere dozens that they can publish in a year. With so many truly amazing stories at their hands, and so much competition in the market, they have to pick the authors + books who will bring the best chances of making their money back.

…and what does this have to do with my upcoming story? Well…fun fact: your publishing track record can make or break your own chances in the traditional market.

Publishing record = orders and pre-orders.

In the world of traditional publishing, every single sale is a point in your favor. And it adds up.

(Pre-orders are especially important, because they prove your audience is excited about your releases, even without having a chance to read them yet.)

And, as of today, you officially only have ONE WEEK left to snag your copy and help boost those numbers!!

ACK, I CANNOT believe we are already at this point! Sometimes it still seems like I’m still daydreaming ideas for this story, let alone one week out from its release.

(And I don’t think I’ll ever get over the nerves of publishing a new story. XD)

If you’re looking for a cozy new book for the holidays, or want to support twelve young authors as they begin their publishing careers, click this button NOW, before you forget and the week is up!

Alexander became a magical lantern technician to follow his twin into the theatre without the risk of the dimly-lit floating stages. Single-handedly lighting a performance at the notorious Hantée Brume will guarantee his place with her troupe, away from the dark heights.

…until the magic of the lanterns dies out, smothered by the Hantée Brume’s shadows.

As the only one who knows how to refill the magic, Alexander and his talking owl must brave the darkened backstage—and the phantoms wandering the halls…

Be one of the first 50 to pre-order to receive a signed copy + hand-drawn art print + stickers!

Thank you SO MUCH for your support over this release process! Readers like you make all of the publishing nerves and stress worth it.

Let’s go into this release week strong, shall we??
